Mr. Abdul Sattar Edhi visited CIIT, Islamabad campus on 14-10-2009
Mr. Abdul Sattar Edhi, an eminent social worker of international repute and Chairman, Edhi Welfare Trust visited COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad on Wednesday the 14th October, 2009. He met with the honorable Rector CIIT Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi, Dr. Javed Ashraf, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Bedfordshire University, Dr. Abdul Aziz Khan, Advisor (International Liaison) and Dr. Arshad S. Malik, Registrar CIIT .He discussed various issues concerning creating awareness of social work amongst the students’ community of CIIT. The Rector CIIT assured Mr. Edhi of his full cooperation and help in his work for the noble cause. Mr. Edhi appreciated the efforts made by CIIT in the national disaster of earthquake in 8th October, 2005.
Later, Mr. Edhi also visited CIIT new campus at Chak Shahzad and met with the faculty members and students of CIIT who generously donated funds for the future social and humanitarian activities. Mr. Edhi has planned for Waziristan.
