CIIT’s Contribution for the Swat’s Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)

COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), as a token help for the Swat’s Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), in their hour of dire need, handed over a cheque for Rs. 2.516 million to Higher Education Commission (HEC), as one-day salary contribution of all employees of the CIIT. The cheque was presented to Executive Director HEC, Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi at his office by the Rector CIIT, Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi, S.I. Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Member (Planning & Operations) HEC, and Dr. Arshad S. Malik, Registrar CIIT were also present on the occasion.

It may kindly be noted that besides this contribution, the CIIT is also providing physical as well as material help to the displaced people of Swat, who have migrated to District Attock. The CIIT Campus at Attock has already registered 6,300 displaced people and is providing a fixed ration containing flour, sugar, and other non-perishable eatables.

The CIIT Campuses in other cities are also collecting donations, both in cash and in kind, to help its Attock Campus to manage the steadily growing number of IDPs, who are moving to Attock.
