It is reasonable to hope that one such implementation will eventually enable a full-scale quantum computer. Quantum entanglement is a physical resource, associated with the peculiar nonclassical correlations that are possible between separated quantum systems. We also anticipate that Quantum Information Science research will have a substantial impact on other quantum technologies, such as nanoscale engineering.
