Delegation of Architects from Finland Visited CIIT 
Mr. Marco Casagrande and Ms. Nikita Wu, renowned Architects from Finland visited COMSATS Institute of Information Technology from 2nd to 8th April, 2009. The objective of their visit was to collaborate with CIIT in the designing of Scandinavian House on CIIT Campus Islamabad, besides assisting the hosts in formulating and bidding for joint national and international architectural projects and facilitating the curricula for MS in Architecture.
The guest architects gave presentations to the members of Architecture faculty and students at Islamabad and Lahore campuses. A presentation was also made to various members of Pakistan Architects Association Islamabad Chapter. The theme of Casagrarande’s unique architecture focused on human development coupled with nature and environment. To fulfill their professional dream, the architects visited the shanty town in Islamabad. The architects were also taken to the famous Pakistan Monument. They appreciated the innovative efforts of CIIT Principal Architect, Mr. Arif Masoud in depicting the philosophy and history of Pakistan in a succinct manner.
Mr. Casagrande who graduated from Helsinki University of Technology and has taught architecture at several universities of the world agreed to explore the possibilities of getting scholarships and fellowships for CIIT students and faculty besides forging a viable linkage between Architecture Departments of CIIT and HUT.
