COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Islamabad - 18th Convocation at Convention Centre Islamabad

The 18th convocation of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology was held on Wednesday 8th April at the Convention Centre Islamabad, where 664 students were awarded degrees in various disciplines. Senator Muhammad Azam Khan Swati, Federal Minster for Science & Technology/Chancellor CIIT graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, marking the graduation of 664 students of CIIT Islamabad Campus in the fields of Business Administration, Computer Science, Telecom Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics and Electronics.

Cast and Gold, Silver & Bronze, the Institute & Campus medallions were presented to 86 graduating students for their outstanding performance in their respective fields and departments.

The Rector CIIT, Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi in his Report highlighted the various achievements made by CIIT, its faculty and staff members in last 8 years in terms of research & public service and as result of these achievements, CIIT is now ranked among the top seven universities of the country.

The Rector also extended his gratitude to various government offices and departments as well as government officials for their generous support to CIIT in various aspects. He said that the journey of CIIT has just started and has to go a long way in terms of strengthening of its academic programs, development of infrastructure at its exiting campuses as well as establishment of new campuses within Pakistan as well as in Gulf Region; however, this would not be possible without the continuous support of the government.

The Honorable minister distributed the medals and degrees among the graduating students. He in his address mentioned that it was an honor and pride privilege for him to witness the graduation ceremony of those who are the future of Pakistan. While congratulating the graduating students, their parents and friends, he emphasized on the students on remember ethics commitment and right attitude to ser the nation with honor, dignity, courage and honesty.

He further advised the students to groom themselves as the leaders of the nation in all walks of life. He applauded the Rector CIIT and his team for the hard work done by them and assured the full co-operation of his Ministry to Rector. He concluded his address bye extending his gratitude to the Rector and his team members for organizing such an impressive ceremony.
